Coven Scopes: Pisces Season

Coven Scopes: Pisces Season

On February 18th at 11:42 am, the Sun drifts into dreamy, creative, and elusive Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac. Last, but certainly not least, Pisces Season invites us to escape into the depths of ourselves. As a mutable water sign, Pisces is ever-changing and has an uncanny ability to tap into the emotional longitude of the world around them, adapting in any way necessary. Traditionally ruled by Jupiter, the planet of abundance and expansion, Pisces invites us to take up space with our dreams and open our minds beyond the stars. This is a period of cultivation from all the seasons before– drenched in wisdom, informed by the flux and flow of the last 12 months.

As we wrap up the astrological year, we embrace three planetary shifts: Mars and Venus move into Aquarius and Mercury moves into Pisces. Now, Mars and Venus have been hot and heavy lately, playing a sexy game of cat and mouse. Mars, the planet of drive and passion, and Venus, the planet of love and relationships, met up in Capricorn towards the end of Aquarius Season. They traverse the last few degrees of Capricorn hand-in-hand, and swell with intensity as they close in on Pluto, the planet of deep-seeded transformation. This energy reminds me of the line “So it’s gonna be forever / or it’s gonna go down in flames / you can tell me when it’s over / if the price was worth the pain” from Taylor Swift’s Blank Space. Once Venus and Mars enter Aquarius on March 6th, however, the intensity releases with a nice exhale. Venus and Mars are still tip-toeing around each other, but there’s a levity to them that wasn’t present during their time grounded in Capricorn. They’re a bit more scattered and electric here, embracing each other’s quirks and individuality. Three days later, Mercury diffuses its energy as it shifts into Pisces. Mercury in Pisces is a bit challenging– instead of having the answers right at its fingertips, Mercury has to travel to the corners of the Earth to seek the answers, and then find its way back home. It’s a long, intricate journey, but sometimes the space creates room for creativity and dreams. During these few weeks of Mercury in Pisces, listen to music, consume media, look at art, and connect to messages that are birthed through creative expression.
Now, onto the Moon! This Pisces Season gifts us a New Moon in Pisces on March 2nd and a Full Moon in Virgo on March 18th. The New Moon in Pisces sits tightly with Jupiter, which acts as a magnifying glass to this lunation. When we have a New Moon in Pisces, we have a nourishing opportunity to turn inward, reflect, and connect to our deepest desires. This New Moon is getting support from Uranus, the planet of progression, so get intentional and tap in. The Full Moon in Virgo on March 18th asks us to take a look at the dichotomy of Heaven and Earth. Where can we tether our dreams to Earth? How can we find the balance of keeping our feet on the ground and our head in the clouds, without losing ourselves on either end? This Full Moon sits closely with Neptune, the planet of mysticism. Take note of what seems to good to be true– it just might be.

Aries

Dear Aries, this Pisces Season is all about diving into the depths of your subconscious mind. How can you travel outside of this realm through your dreams and imagination? Slowing down and diving into the feeling of it all may not be your natural state, but there’s always a time and a place. This time can feel a bit exhausting for you as well, so be sure to give yourself time to rest and heal – both physically and emotionally. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, you have some energy and attention directed towards your friends, social circles, and networks. Like a piece of cayenne chocolate, this energy is sweet and packs a punch. Take the time to connect with your people and embrace the nourishment these connections can provide. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, you may feel a little scattered and like your mind is swimming circles around your shadow self. This can be a little uncomfy, like treading water, but at the very least it keeps you afloat. The New Moon on March 2nd really amplifies what’s going on below the surface for you, my friend. Take this time to get intentional. Maybe that looks like journaling, therapy, or meditation– no matter the medium, you’re called to rinse out the corners of yourself that you’ve maybe been neglecting. Then, with the Full Moon on March 18th, you have the opportunity to take some of these sort of abstract thoughts and feelings and ground them into the earth. This feels like an opportunity for embodiment; maybe yoga, walking, working out, whatever works best for you. The key here is integration. Make it a good one babes, your season is just around the corner!

Taurus

Taurus, this Pisces Season calls for you to bring light and connection to your social circles, friend groups, and networks. You need these spaces to feel emotionally tapped in, so don’t be afraid to dive into the deep end. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, your attention shifts from valuing the energy you put into your growth, and pivots to embracing how your self-expansion can help you gain recognition and notoriety. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being seen and basking in that light, my friend, but be sure to do it in the ways that feel authentic to you. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, you have the ability to learn from your peers– maybe this looks like simple conversation or more formal learning, but nevertheless, this mental stimulation comes from a space of deep intuition and creativity. Allow yourself to elevate your communication channels by any means that feel more artistic and imaginative; it will only guide you to dream bigger. The New Moon on March 2nd really amplifies these connections and dreams. Get intentional. Journal, vision board, talk it out, and do so in community. Then, with the Full Moon on March 18th, you have the opportunity to embrace your creativity and self-expression. While this Moon asks you to look at the tangible and intangible, you’re able to integrate the inspiration you gain from your community into your own beautiful form of self-expression. Don’t shy away from it, Taurus. In fact, it only feels more nourishing the more you lean into it all.

Gemini

This Pisces Season is all about stepping into the spotlight, my friend, but in a way that is intuitive, kind, and compassionate. Your innate ability to synthesize information and socialize makes you the social butterfly of the zodiac, and while you love the mental stimulation, you also need to feel deeply connected to whatever it is you’re doing when you’re the center of attention. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, you find you have more energy to value personal growth, expansion, and liberation. Similar to cayenne chocolates, this energy is sweet but also packs a punch. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, you’re called to dream big. Mercury is your ruler, so you’ll likely feel this shift in a big way, as it’s not very comfortable in Pisces. It’s not that it can’t do it’s ~mercurial thing~, it’s just that it gets distracted while doing so. With that in mind, you may find yourself daydreaming, drifting off, or feeling scatterbrained. While this can feel annoying (especially when you’re so used to being quick on your feet) lean into this opportunity to slow down and drift away. The New Moon on March 2nd amplifies this energy, inviting you towards higher recognition and notoriety. Whether it’s in your work or personal life, this bolster helps you make some vertical moves as long as you’re intentional and moving through intuition. The Full Moon in Virgo on March 18th then asks you to look at the dichotomy of your dreams and your reality. How can you embrace the side of yourself that’s imaginative, dreamy, and ethereal, while also grounding those qualities into something tangible? That’s for you to explore, my friend, and with this Full Moon, be sure to release anything that isn’t helping you step into your fullness.

Cancer

For you, Cancer, this Pisces Season invites you into self-expansion and growth. Similar to you, Pisces is a deep feeler, but dare I say, tends to peel back a few more layers than you may be privy to. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, there’s an energetic shift from focusing on the relationships you have in your life, to focusing on how others can support you through various shared resources. As Mars brings energy and Venus brings value into this space, don’t be afraid to accept help (or maybe even ask for it). Then, as Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, your mental processing and interest in higher learning, philosophy, and travel take up space. We can integrate so many of our flurrying thoughts through creativity steeped in the divine, so maybe you take this time to engage with art, culture, and cinema. The New Moon on March 2nd magnifies this energy, inviting you to get intentional about where it is in your life you are looking for growth and expansion. It’s through these channels where you can end up finding opportunity and abundance, so dream big. The Full Moon in Virgo on March 18th then asks you to take these dreams and find ways in which you can make them tangible. Your community is your biggest ally here, so allow yourself to connect with those in close proximity to you– you may just surprise yourself with how much you can learn in such short distances.

Leo

Dear Leo, this Pisces Season invites you in and asks you to put your ego to the side. While you enjoy fierce independence, it’s important to remember that sometimes it is okay to rely on others. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, your energy shifts away from focusing on habits and routines, and towards your relationships. However, this attention to your partnerships is like a piece of cayenne chocolate: sweet, but packs a punch. This energy can be light and fun, so try to let go of the seriousness of it all. Then on March 9th, Mercury shifts into Pisces. While Mercury may struggle a bit here, this diffusion of energy encourages you to be the visionary that you are– no dream is too big. But big dreams come with asking for help, so try to communicate your needs to others. Your warmth and loyalty draws others into your orbit, Leo, so don’t be afraid to speak up; those who really want to see you succeed will be there to lift you up when you need it most. The New Moon on March 2nd magnifies this energy and invites you to get intentional: how can you lean into a sense of surrender to the world and resources of others around you? You may even find solace in seeking the answers through tarot, astrology, or magick. No matter the medium, you have the space during this lunation to turn inward and dive deeper. Then, the Full Moon on March 18th highlights your values and assets– both tangible and intangible. Around this time, you may find yourself letting go of anything that no longer holds value (to you) or, you may discover that what you thought you valued is no longer aligned with the person you are becoming. Whatever it may be, Leo, you always have the power to release what isn’t working. It’s only then, when we make the space, we can invite the new in.

Virgo

Hey there, Virgo, are you ready to take a deep dive into your relationships this season? There’s a lot to unpack here as the Sun lights up this area of your life. You may find that, in relationships, there’s an element of hyper-romanticization. While that can be intoxicatingly beautiful and exciting, it can also feel like drowning. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, your energy shifts to focusing on your habits and physicality. This is a great time to start moving your body or dedicating yourself to a nice self-care routine. This level of physical integration and self-care can help keep you grounded while your mind scatters around all the consuming thoughts related to relationships. Keep in mind, relationships can be intimate or platonic, so this includes all the friendships and partnerships in your life. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, the thought processes only get more dream-like. This could be a wonderful time to connect with a partner or friend through music, cinema, or art. (Maybe a fusion of all three!) The New Moon on March 2nd highlights these themes, as you’re guided towards intentionality behind the relationships in your life. If they’re not helping elevate your consciousness, connection, and emotional capacity, Virgo, it may be time to reconsider. What’s lovely about New Moons is that they provide us with the inward focus and space to sort out what it is we really want. Then, with the Full Moon on March 18th, you’re asked to look at how the relationships in your life are (or aren’t) contributing to your sense of self. This is a big deal for you! You’re at the mid-point of your year; a cycle of becoming. How far have you come? Is it where you want to be heading? If not, take this time to shed the layers that are holding you back.

Libra

Dear Libra, this Pisces Season is asking you to dive into your habits, routines, and daily work. There is magic in ritual (heck, even the word spiritual has ritual in it!) so take this time to romanticize the mundane. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, you find a burst of creative energy and levity washing over you. As Venus is your ruler, it crawls out of the grounded seriousness that comes with Capricorn, and lightens up as it gets some electricity in air-sign Aquarius. Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, which shifts any thought processes and communications into the clouds. Mercury in Pisces is scattered and hard to grasp, but with that comes inspiration and mysticism. Perhaps you take this time to establish a meditation or yoga routine, or start practicing morning pages. The New Moon on March 2nd highlights these Piscean themes, allowing you to set intentions related to the habits or routines you’d like to create. And remember, you are a Libra, so these don’t have to be boring ol’ habits!

They can be aesthetic, creative, inspiring, and everything in between. Then, with the Full Moon on March 18th, you have the opportunity to recognize how your daily habits contribute (or don’t) to your subconscious well-being. (And yes, this includes mental health!) Dust off the cobwebs in the corners of your mind and allow yourself to tediously tend to your needs. If you’ve been putting something off, or if there’s something below the surface that’s been causing you stress and anxiety, let that shit go with this lunation.

Scorpio

Scorpio, as a water sign, you’re used to feeling and feeling deeply. This Pisces Season invites you to synthesize those feelings into self-expression and creativity. As Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, your focus shifts from your community and communication channels, to your home and comforts. Venus, the planet of beauty, and Mars, the planet of action, invite you to make your personal space more you. Perhaps this looks like beautifying your space, or simply rearranging and moving the energy of your home around. You may have also felt like you’ve had some really focused energy lately, as Mars (your ruler) made its way through Capricorn. With the shift to Aquarius, there is a lightness and electricity that takes over your energy channels, so take this time to sigh out a long exhale. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, you have the ability to take all of the thoughts swirling around in the depths of your subconscious and turn them into poetry. Or art. Or music. Or fun, playful expression. Whatever it may be for you, Scorpio, have fun exploring different avenues of self-expression and child-like play. The New Moon on March 2nd echoes these themes, as you’re called to look inward at all of the ways in which you experience pleasure and play. Hey, maybe this even looks like realllllly intoxicating sex! Whatever floats your boat this season, be sure to get intentional in a big way. Then, with the Full Moon on March 18th, you’re asked to take a look at how your social circles and networks support (or don’t support) the creative direction you’d like to move in. If these groups aren’t offering you support, this Full Moon is a great time to gently release them. Find your community, my friend! You deserve all of the support.

Sagittarius

Where are you pointing your arrow this month, my archer friend? This Pisces Season is asking you to take a close look at your home space, or the spaces in your life that bring you solace, comfort, and privacy. This is a great time to get back on Pinterest and save all of the dream home inspo you can find– with Pisces, there is no dream too big! During this season, Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius. For you, this means bringing value and energy into your community. This is an interesting dichotomy, as Venus wants to bring together while Mars wants to sever. With that in mind, where in your community, neighborhood, and local environment can you cut through the noise to help foster a space of support, accessibility, and open communication? As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, your thoughts get deeper, more nuanced, and way more emotional. Turn inward, get cozy, and consider how you’ve communicated your needs up until this point. A big lesson in life is remembering that it’s okay to tell people how we need to be loved and nurtured, and it’s even more okay to do so with intentional emotional maturity. The New Moon on March 2nd asks you to get really intentional in this area of your life. Maybe this looks like establishing a new home, moving, or simply making plans for your next move. No matter how this New Moon plays out for you, it will likely take up a lot of space within your emotional body, so give it time to settle. Then, come the Full Moon on March 18th, you can take a practical look at how the work you’re doing in your private, intimate life can anchor you into the spaces where you find public recognition and notoriety. Full Moons are a beautiful time for releasing, so don’t forget to let go of the elements in your life, both public and private, that no longer nurture or support you.

Capricorn

Dear Capricorn, this Pisces Season invites you to look at the ways in which you communicate and connect. Pisces is deep, emotionally intricate, and beautifully mystical. Where can you bring some of this fluid, empathetic thinking and reasoning into your life? Venus and Mars move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, giving you some breathing room. With this planetary shift, your energy and values shift from yourself to your values and assets. If you’ve been doing a lot of work on yourself lately– maybe both aesthetically and physically – the time to think about your finances is now. Where Venus is involved, there are sweet gifts, but we’re not talking just about Venus. Like cayenne chocolate, this sweetness packs a punch, as Mars walks with Venus hand in hand. Take note as to where you want to cut out extra spending so you can shift your money and values towards something you really want to work towards. On March 9th, Mercury moves into Pisces, which only further highlights the Piscean themes for you this season: communication and connection, baby! Mercury in Pisces is quite scattered and ethereal, so allow yourself to channel your communication through art, music, or storytelling. With the New Moon on March 2nd, you’re asked to get intentional about the ways in which you communicate and connect with others. This feels like a beautiful time to vision board, my friend, so break out those old magazines and glue sticks! The Full Moon on March 18th then asks you to take a look at how your connection to your community, and all you’ve learned from it, can help highlight your expansiveness. Full Moons are a time for letting go and harvesting the fruits of our labor, so take these lessons and apply them to your higher self.

Aquarius

Aquarius, your season may be over, but you’ve still got some guests lingering at the house party! First and foremost, Venus and Mars shift out of Capricorn and into Aquarius, giving you energy and making you feel like your best self. During this time, you may feel like you’ve got some extra energy to dedicate towards moving your body, getting ready, and making yourself truly feel like your best self. Enough about Venus and Mars, though! With the Sun in Pisces, you’re given the opportunity to take a look at your values and finances. Kind of like getting the bill at the end of a night out, sometimes you don’t know how much damage you’ve done to your bank account until you’re holding the receipt. It’s not all serious and money-related, though! You’re also given the opportunity to dream about your values and assets. If there’s a dream thing you want– maybe it’s that sleek Smeg toaster, a new handbag, a large crystal, or a new, mystical Tarot deck – take this time to connect to the emotional feeling of achieving that goal. With the New Moon on March 2nd, you’re given the opportunity to get intentional about what it is you want and, especially, what it is you value. There’s no shame in shifting around your priorities as you continue to grow and change. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, the collective consciousness gets a lot more ethereal. Mercury in Pisces is scattered and anything but concise. The nice thing, though, is that there is a lot of opportunity for connecting to art, music, and cinema. Embrace it! Then, with the Full Moon on March 18th, you’re given the opportunity to look at how your assets and values connect to the resources and assets of others. Full Moons are a time of releasing, so take this as an opportunity to let go of the shared resources that may be causing more harm than good.

Pisces

Pisces, last but certainly not least, it is your time to shine! As you know, Pisces Season is all about getting deep, connecting to your emotional self, and conjuring up the biggest, most beautiful dreams your mind can create. Before we get into the Piscean details of your season, we must first talk about Venus and Mars moving out of Capricorn and into Aquarius. This shift channels a lot of energy and value towards your subconscious mind, so give yourself the space to be gentle with yourself and any hidden thoughts, feelings, or emotions that rise to the surface. Venus and Mars together are like cayenne chocolate– sweet but packs a punch. But enough about them, let’s get to YOU! The New Moon on March 2nd invites you to look at yourself: who have you become? Who do you want to be? New Moons are times for intentionality, and given this New Moon’s proximity to Jupiter, you’re going to want to get intentional in a big way. Recognize where you’d like to bring in expansion, opportunity, and growth over this next year. As Mercury moves into Pisces on March 9th, things get a lot more heady. Mercury in Pisces is not the most comfortable, as it’s relatively scattered and has its head in the clouds. It’s not all challenging, though, there’s good that can come from this! Take the time to communicate who you are through music, art, literature, and cinema. What better time than now to make a Pisces Season playlist that’s curated just for you?! Closing out Pisces Season, the Full Moon on March 18th asks you to take a look at the dichotomy of who you are and who you’re becoming, as it counters the relationships in your life. If they’re not serving you, in true Full Moon fashion, it may be time to let them go. All in all, Pisces, it’s time to celebrate you! Cheers to another year, my friend, your energy is so valuable in a disenchanted world.
